Welcome to Cherry Pits: my website and blog. Here you will find my work and my thoughts. It's both the cherry and the pits.

My last name, Kirshenbaum (Kirschenbaum), means Cherry Tree. Now I’m using everything in my life’s toolbox, the cherries and the pits.

I’m married to Jack, and we have two cats and no kids. We live high on a hill in San Francisco, CA, USA. I write, draw, paint, collage, take photos, sew, cook, entertain, design, and make things. I like to watch films, take classes, walk, dance, and travel – but most of all – I love to draw people.

As a member of the Collective I make art work not only about my fellow humans, but also about creatures of the earth and sky, and the planet itself. I subscribe to the brilliant idea my painter aunt and mentor in Rome, Pucci Clerici, has lobbied for over decades: there should be a representative for planet Earth in the UN!
